Restdown Wetlands
The landholders of Restdown Wetlands are organic farmers who care deeply about the environment and sharing their passion with the community. Visitors to Restdown can explore the wetlands through a ‘wetland walk’, a loop around the wetlands with boardwalks and education signage on local plants and wildlife, cultural artefacts, and wetland ecosystems.
The wetland today only fills in very wet years requiring additional targeted flows to achieve a more ‘natural’ watering regime.
Working closely with the landholders, the goal for Restdown Wetland is to support a natural water regime, helping to restore the black box woodland and provides suitable habitat for waterbirds and frogs.
